Save it for Comic Con – Robot’s Root 12 June 2018

This Spider-Verse movie may be the best comic-related anything ever, film specific. I’m astonished at how good it FEELS. Also, i’m in it for the cop dad.

  • Doctor Doom looks less likely, meaning even more likely a wholesale transition to Marvel’s stable.
  • For this guy, the Hit-Girl and related properties have lost their luster, but Millar and Vaughn have plans for more. Meanwhile, there’s another Kingsman movie in the works (I’m OK with it I suppose) and a turn of last century prequel (that’s what caught my eye, obviously)…
  • How about a GoT prequel set millennia earlier? You got it. Add it to the flaming pile…
  • I’ve got a fever, and the only cure is more Predators in my Predator. I guess.
  • Geoff Johns is out, but is he down? He’s still writing Green Lantern Corps, and now rumor has it Jim lee is stepping up to try and right the DCEU ship.
  • Kidding looks A M A Z I N G.
  • Bad Times at the What i TOLE!
  • Here’s a summary of all the supposed DCEU films in development. It’s stir crazy.
  • I admit I kind of want to draw all these heroes killed in Incredibles 1… or already dead… or what have you. Capes, bots, etc.
  • A well-reasoned and thoughtful consideration to the question: Is is disrespectful to drive around a dead Autobot as a car?
  • Tran leaving social media was probably good for her mental health, but sucks for all of us. She was an awesome celeb to follow, and really loved Star Wars fandom, the same crew that ate her alive and then complained about the taste.
  • I don’t know why, but I like when supers costumes are damaged or modified, as if purpose built and then evolved as circumstances change. Like Captain America’s main suit transitioning to a ‘covert ops’ version, in turn basically debadged and worn down by the time Infinity War happens. Or, as we see in this pic of Janet Van Dyne, layered.
  • So stoked on the new Hellboy film. Mignola nails it.
  • These games continue to fascinate me, even as I have no time to play them. The societal evolution in the worlds and the mechanics that allow for it is good reading.
  • I haven’t even CRACKED Star Wars: Battlefront 2 yet, but the Han Solo packs look good.

Thats all for today… still decompressing from SFCC and preparing for Fandemic!

No Good to Me Dead – Robots Root 25 May 2018

Mangold… on board Boba Fett?!? I mean, look: I’m part of the generation of fans that irrationally LOVES Boba Fett, but not part of the generation of fans that loves all those clone business. But if they took the right approach, this could be a pretty innovative piece of the extended SW saga. I want a heist and hunt film, come on!

Meanwhile, these items:

  • Regina King leads a new cast for the Watchmen series on HBO, and while the interwebs seem upset that they aren’t just retelling the same story as the film (and book) I’m looking forward to a story set post-Manhattan in the same continuity. Optimism alert!
  • One of my favorite touches in Deadpool 2 was the inclusion of queer characters where it wasn’t a thing. It wasn’t NOT a thing, either. It was about as controversial as Negasonic moving from one hawt haircut to another, as it should be. More on that when we release the Robot-Kraken Podcast, but look, none of it matters, as far as the haters go, and it REALLY matters, as representation for others, so I’m down.
  • ZOMBIE ALERT!
  • Matt Groening’s Disenchantment. What do you think?
  • Predator = Iron Man 3 + Dark Knight
  • The music is a departure, but everything else is spot on. Preacher S03!
  • Nothing is confirmed until its confirmed, but supposedly non-Batman may be joining previous-Batman in Spidey 2
  • Thanks Comcast. Thanks again. And for SPORTS.
  • One half of this John Wick 3 news is acceptable.
  • OK no joke: the finale of Six Feet Under’s final moments still haunts me. It just wrecked me. Somehow the Simpsons parody STILL has an effect.

Reminder, the latest episode of Robot-Kraken is available now: Legion, Expanse, and more! Please do rate and review us on iTunes…

Get this Man a Facet Tool – Robots Root 11 May 2018

Disappointed at the lack of attribution, but this is my current desktop, and I used it in our latest Robot-Kraken Podcast. So good.

  • Looking forward to American Animals, as one does.
  • I’m 100% on board with whatever regarding Birds of Prey, honestly.
  • Thinking about the future of the franchise, what ‘big event’ could replace Avengers movies? I think this is a maguffin, because the narrative had bled into other films already, such as the last two most amazing Captain America films. I was thinking about this last night. Maybe ‘Secret Wars’? Not the stitched-together battle planet, but rather the idea that the heroes and villains would be shunted into an environment forcing them to organize and fight their way out. I can see this fusing concepts from the original Secret Wars, Champions, and frankly, a good dose of what we got from Thunderbolts and Exiles: versions of characters pulled from the multiverse. Makes sense to this guy!
  • This is HIGH TREASON.
  • Donald Glover got wonderfully weird on SNL. But this novelization of the backstory of Lando is even weirder.
  • Captain Marvel already has a very intriguing cast… but they just added Annette Bening, and I’m even more intrigued.
  • Look: I’m horrified by the project, but I LOOOOVE her honesty. Legit.
  • Ron Howard + Arrested Development + Star Wars. Gold! Marketing at its best.
  • Listen, I have too much stuff, and I’m trying to get less stuff. But I’m really having trouble resisting this.
  • TAKE MY MONEY (that I don’t have)
  • I haven’t finished Clone Wars and haven’t started Rebels (kids too young) but this is very interesting to me, stylistically.
  • Everything about this. EVERYTHING. Thanks to C Ferrren for finding it…
  • Jon Favreau’s new SW series will take place during the first years of peace in the New Republic. Interesting territory for the show, I think.
  • While I understand WHY Syfy is dropping the Expanse (bad deal they made) I will just say that this better get picked up by Netflix, fast.
  • Here’s that teaser for Predator that came out yesterday. Optimism abounds, more on Kris’ side than mine. But still, love the cast. Here’s a snap of the current Predator design, in all of it’s sizzlechest, tall headed glory.
  • All the behind the scenes business is done, and Rick and Morty will be back for… 70 EPISODES… FFS that’s good news.
  • 355 is an all-female spy thriller, which is 100% better news than whatever was happening the day before it was revealed to be happening. The cast.
  • LEGO car building factory awesomeness…

And with that, a reminder to listen to our latest episode of Robot-Kraken, and in general, you know, fear not and be just…

Shes Bloody Hot Mate – Robots Root 12 April 2018

Milla Jovovich posted this photo… of her own character… the other day, and the Mignola side of the interwebs screamed. I know I did. Can’t wait.

Meanwhile, in space:

  • Literally: Expanse S03 e01 aired last night, but us streaming types have to wait until FRIDAY FFS, throwing off our planned Robot-Kraken Podcast recording agenda for tonight. But if you need a refresher, here’s a primer. Better yet, quickly go read ALL THE BOOKS. Then watch all the eps.
  • I present: Icky Mouse, by Dann Matthews. Amazing.
  • Thinking about the classic X-Men/Teen Titans crossover from my youth, while I agree that it is still surprising that the two rival companies collaborated while both properties were at their peak, thinking about it now, I would offer that this was back when the company rivalry was good natured, and hadn’t turned vitriolic as it did in the 90s and beyond… back then, if readers knew there would be Justice League and Avengers movies out within a year of each other, they’d be collectively ecstatic. I know I would have. Today fans of one property actively try and sink the movie of the other. It’s unreal. The other aspect of this that I have a different perspective on today is that creators move from company to company. At the time, the idea that Claremont was able to write, and Simonson draw, the DC characters effectively seemed exotic. In today’s market, however, creators sometimes work at both shops, or move from one to another. It’s just story. Anyway, blast from the past…
  • A Bourne prequel called Treadstone is in development. I mean… why even call it Bourne. It could be any black ops agency.
  • You like movie sequels? Atomic Blonde has one cooking. You like sequels for your sequels? Then Jumanji has one… and the Rock is generally cooking something. You like sequels for your TV shows? Jessica Jones has one too!
  • Predator has undergone extensive reshoots for the third act. I keep saying this, but today significant reshoots are common on most major productions, and do not necessarily signify problems. We want the best film possible, after all.
  • Jeff Wadlow had a script treatment for He-Man that I have to say, I agree with generally. I think this film wants to be nostalgic and referential and fun, not a grim redesign.
  • Mulan is getting serious. Donnie Yen! Jet Li and Gong Li! I want to go to there.
  • David Leitch is apparently on board for the Fast and Furious spin-off. All I can say on that point is that he might be too good for it, but it might elevate the property.
  • What is EVEN with the Stan Lee situation?! It gets more and more surreal by the day.
  • Like tabletop games? Like Starfleet Battles and BSG? Here’s everything in one package for you. I mean, probably not one package. From what I’ve seen of the recent Star Wars tabletop stuff, you have to buy a million different expensive expansion packs and individual ships. Obviously I haven’t done table top gaming in years, but it was always that way. Which is all to say, my enthusiasm for this project will be directly related to how many pieces are included in the basic kit.
  • Jeff Goldblum noises.
  • They taught an AI to make its own Flintstones animatics. This can’t be good. I mean, I don’t know how its not good, but it still feels useful to SKYNET. Somehow.
  • Here’s a new Incredibles 2 trailer… filled with all the things.

Finally, look what ole Deeply Dapper found in Fallout 4:

Even the Five-Pronged Trident Cant Ruin This Poster – Robots Root 3 Nov 17

I like this poster art so much, it not only transfers a slightly unearned optimism for the quality of the film, but makes me want to read a comic like this.

Behold! An international robot’s root!

I took a pass at a random victim generator on twitter or some such, and sure enough, I’m the first to go. So I’m THAT guy, if we ever play RPGs together…

SPOILER ALERT: So, we’ve recorded a ton of stuff on Bladerunner for the podcast already, but here’s a great look at the way they pulled off the Rachel reveal. When we recorded, we didn’t know much about how they did it, and the IMDB notes that Sean Young was on set made it confusing, but she was a ‘mannerism advisor’… anyway, here’s the thing, even as the final product was pretty OK on the uncanny valley scale, I wouldn’t have minded the physical actress they used.

Here’s a great piece of art for Fifth Element’s Leelu. I’m blanking on the artist right now, but I’ll find it. I was struck because of how much I dislike the majority of Leelu fanart, including my own.

And here’s my current favorite fanart from bladerunner, courtesy of Albinoraven. Amazing.

For whatever reason, bosslogic manipped Scott Eastwood as a Wolverine recast. Don’t hate it.

This makes me nostalgic: the original art for the corner-box Iron Man of my youth!

Last one, kind of random. Or more random. Found this Minecraft Matchbox car at the stoe. It’s empty. There’s no mindcraft guy in it. It’s a cart.

And yet thats not the weirdest part. COLLECT THEM ALL. Different box art… same toy. What is even.

How are Your Holes? – Robots Root 24 Oct 2017

Why does BRIGHT look like it’s working? It shouldn’t work. No one asked for a Shadowrun buddy cop drama. No one asked for Shadowrun, period. And yet.

meanwhile, GET THAT ROOT:

  • Surprising precisely no one, Captain Marvel will be in Avengers 4. I’m really intrigued about all this. Time travel? Skrullery? Also coming back: Ty Kimpson or similar, the kid from IM3… I’m again smelling time-travel rewriting of history. And good lors, Ben Mendelsohn being courted for the leader of the Skrulls ARE YOU KIDDING ME TAKE MY MONEY.
  • Termocop? Robominator? WHAT?!?
  • Well, writing an X-23 script despite not having a production order beats a world where that doesn’t happen.
  • Best enamel pin ever for today. Relevant for artists everywhere.
  • If the Robot Wars thing was staged… why was it so lame?
  • The legend of Bidlo Kwerve, most important person in the Star Wars universe…
  • Predator is still happening. With lighting! And Olivia Munn. What more do you need.
  • Yes please giant AT-AT no trick or treaters needed.
  • Geez. I haven’t seen War of the Planet of the Tole yet, but want to. Probably on the plane next week to Singapore. Anyway, apparently poor Malcolm from the previous film (Jason ‘John Connor’ Clarke) met an unseemly end off camera.
  • Braun vs. Olivetti?: Then and now… why choose? Love them both.
  • Yep, that’s certainly a Ronin look for Hawkeye, or alt -universe Hawkeye, or timey-wimey changed Hawkeye…
  • I’m a weirdo Monopoly guy. I’m not great at the game or anything like those super-committed players, I just like the boards and the mechanics of it, easy to start and stop thegame with the kids, and I love to collect the genre franchise editions. I’m not allowed to buy any more. Lucky for me this handmade Harry Potter set was a one-off and not for sale. ha!
  • HMMM. Boba Fett DID escape the Sarlaac! Lego proves it. I mean, that’s iron-clad amirite…

That’s all for today. WUBBA WUBBA DUB DUBBB!

Im Arresting You Thats What Im Doing – Robots Root 20 September 2017

I’m somewhat alarmed to tell you that I feel strongly compelled to buy this bottle even though I fear soul crushing debt.

Welp, in other news, here’s some Robot Rootery:

  • How Wonder Woman should have ended? Right here. And a hankering for an Honest Trailer, perhaps? HERE.
  • This Sideshow speculative Nomadic Obi Wan is all sorts of amazing and I want this movie now. This right here. All of it.
  • You may have heard that Richard Donner’s original goal for Superman was to have the majority of Superman I and II as a single film. This isn’t that, quite, but here is a Blu-Ray release of the longform version of Superman I that was originally broadcast over two nights. I can’t wait. How interesting! It’s like an alternate reality version of the film.
  • A brief history of the famously awkward Star Trek ‘double punch’ maneuver.
  • I’m kind of enjoying this examination of Tragic Photoshop on Alicia Vikander’s spine. I mean, I enjoy examining her spine in general. But also, bad photoshop. Speaking of, here’s the whole trailer.
  • So I’m thinking about Avengers 3 and 4. Loose theory: Avengers 3 (Infinity War) will involve Thanos cleaning up, brutally killing everyone. Cap gets ahold of the time gem, travels back… then we have Captain Marvel movie, set in 90s. Perhaps time travel events in Avengers 3 lead to environment where Cap Marvel now exists. Reset MCU. Then forward to Avengers 4 where we have traveled through different timelines, and are now defeating Thanos with a new hybrid team of multidimensional Avengers? This would explain why Crossbones may be back (alternate universe or time travel) and would trade heavily on the Avengers Forever stuff from years ago, swapping out Thanos for Kang.
  • Trailer round-up; This collection of trailers includes the following: gratuitous overuse of the choppy percussion coinciding with cut scenes, mini-teaser trailers preceding the actual trailers, oversharing, and surprisingly, two uses of big gun 80’s metal that I hope make it into the respective projects and not just the trailers.
    • New Jumanji stuff, which I told myself I wouldn’t watch, but did, and still loved.
    • New full Punisher trailer. At this point his chestplate looks less bustier-like, which is good, but I still struggle with his douche haircut. Release date remains randomly obscured, because Netflix.
    • Donnie Yen’s HK 70s epic, Chasing the Dragon
    • Full Tomb Raider trailer (I really enjoy a female, modern take on Indiana Jones, but it’s a bit heavy on the daddy stuff)
  • MA.K is being adapted by the producer of IT. Giant robots, so I’m in.
  • This is awesome: Tweedie Waititi has commissioned and produced a Maori-language version of Moana and held free screenings, to encourage the dwindling native-tongue speaking Maori population to re-engage with their culture in NZ.
  • And speaking of the Waititis, Taika is apparently looking at taking on Akira. I mean, CAN YOU IMAGINE. So rad.
  • I don’t know why this took me by surprise, given Schwarzenegger and Cameron have been talking up another Terminator project, but now apparently Linda Hamilton is in on it. Surprising to me, I guess, given her relationship collapse with Cameron…
  • Watchmen has begun production for HBO… given how much room that story wants to breathe, and HBO’s track record for genre projects the last several years, I’m optimistic.

One more thing:

I don’t know of this is legit…. but it is definitely L E G I T if you feel me.

Also: Dig on Bosslogic’s speculative Joker via Jackie Earl Haley..

Finally, an update on the TRDL Art Jam:

Our man Tulio will be taking on the duties of posting the TRDL Art Jam subjects each month, to our FB and dA groups… starting in October. I needed to focus on the TRDL Sourcebook production, so this is a huge help.

FACE OFF – Robots Root 25 August 2017

With all the hubbub about the proposed non-continuity Joker project, Bosslogic and others have been rapidly generating manips of different Joker visions from the comics and other sources. This was my favorite. I said, years ago, that what i wanted to see in the films was the version of this guy with his own face sewn back on. Here we go!

Meanwhile…

Robot’s Root:

  • But…but what I MEANT was, Batman’s not in continuity, but also, he’s totally in continuity!
  • In the wake of yesterday’s apparent greenlighting of a Joker and Harley film, Ayers’ Gotham City Sirens appears to have been chopped.
  • James Cameron. I mean, yeah, some strong women in some of his films… and what he pulled off with Sarah Connor was visionary… but then again, you read stuff like this, and think about how tone deaf he comes across as, ending with a preposition, and you might be reminded of True Lies, which was not exactly the feminist opus he thought it was.
  • So, Anna Diop has been cast as Starfire in the live action Teen Titans. This will be interesting, culturally: will they go orange and play it safe, or acknowledge more of the actress’ true skin color and tweak the character design, to the outrage of a rabid (I suspect less diverse) fan base…
  • I’m having trouble with these designs. More derivative reworks of the old stuff, and less successful. At least this time they didn’t name the Super Mega Super Star Destroyer as badly. But… gorilla hands?
  • Big Trouble in Little Comics! Again!
  • You have to admit: those are dope spacesuits. Probably have 11 pt. surround sound.
  • No tracks never found evermore.
  • I’ll be in my bunker.

  • See this is my central issue with Inhumans: how is that the cast looks more interesting dressed for a photo shoot as themselves, rather than in costume?

  • That one time…

Lastly, here are some other pics from legoland you might enjoy. The Star Wars exhibit was not rides and such but actually just a bunch of diorama work, much like their Miniland stuff… I admit something in me gets really aggravated at the odd scaling up they do by building miniatures from Legls rather than working in the actual Lego scale… but anyway:

A Cherry Blossom Urban Moment and Other Things – 29 June 2017

I’m really chuffed about my current iOS background. This too can be yours.

Meanwhile, I present: Robot’s Root!

  • Wow, so, I’m not sure the better takeaway on this one: inspect undercarriage for ticks on the regular, or have a full size water tank on hand for red ant attacks. Either way.
  • I think i see some cues from the Iron man Bleeding Edge armor in these Infinity War drone snaps. All the LEDS! Love it.
  • Lucas’ museum has been approved to go forward in LA, which is generally good news, because i’m in LA all the time, and I want to get up IN there.
  • Bloody, practical FX, Hellboy… these are all on my X-mas list…
  • I’m not going to Game of Toles night at the Giants stadium, but the GOT intro sequence is still one of my favorites, so this was a treat. Thanks, Lung!
  • I think it’s WAYYYY too early to get excited about the new The Batman… but I will say that all this noir Hitchcockian referencing works for me.
  • I really want to see Lord and Miller rejoin the Flash film. Think about it: DC desperately wants to ‘lighten up’ the DCU. Lord and Miller were fired for, among many issues, an overly-comical, improvisational tone to the footage shot and the script deviations taken (raging Kasdan into rage) … and finally, these solo films from DC struggle under the weight of their own imagery and nostalgia… Ezra Miller’s Flash thus far has been witty… how interesting would it be if Lord and Miller SUCCEEDED and made a good film for DC?
  • I can’t even with all this Sony business. Kraven and Mysterio solo films? Really? And Carnage is the big bad of a Venom film? SO MANY TENDRILS.
  • Watchmen as an ongoing on HBO was all anyone wanted in the first place, though I’m no hater of the film by any stretch.
  • You like Legos? And Fuchikomas? HERE
  • I want to like Inhumans. Despite everything. The trailer launched… and it’s devoid of tension. I don’t even. At least Lockjaw has a tuning fork, albeit a surface branded one… the way I like things in general, I guess. Glowy tattoos FTW. More breakdown here.
  • On the other hand, the Jumanji trailer launched and I LOVED IT. ‘you don’t go in the water with a backpack everyone knows that.’
  • I’m surprised by my own self, liking what I’m seeing from the Netflix adaptation of Death Note. It’s all about Willem Defoe + Death God as he’s always looked. Wow.
  • Valerian is getting better early buzz than I anticipated. If nothing else, not surprisingly, it needs to be seen on the big screen…
  • Hey cool, noirish trippy Alan Moore project that he actually wrote for live action so maybe 3% chance he won’t distance himself from it with vitriol. Looks great! On Shudder.
  • Spidey’s early buzz is REALLY good, which is also promising… meanwhile, Tom Holland is apparently an unintentional enthusiastic leaker who hasn’t been given the Infinity War script out of caution. He supposedly got the OK to tell folks it’s Peter parker (retconned) into IM 2… I like that nod. The connection of Stark to Parker was important in the comics, and I think it’s a big part of how the new phase of Marvel movies goes… speaking of, THIS is finally available…
  • So for those of you who’ve seen WW, you know that cool moment where she meets Chief, and speaks with him in Blackhawk? Apparently he introduces himself as Napi, a trickster god, and it was in the script. Also the first time she actually shakes someone’s hand. Interesting! Apparently in canon.
  • You may have read this (quickly debunked) interpretation of the story of Andy’s father in Toy Story… Im not convinced it’s NOT true, given the circumstances. I actually REALLY like it. It’s chilling.
  • Also, this happened: my new spirit animal

Thus and therefore, I leave you to your e-musings.

Manilla Folder Time – Robots Root 17 June 28

Preacher S02 started this past weekend, but I won’t see it until a few nights from now, after settling down from the last two week’s of cons. But man, I’m stoked. STOKED.

I’m back from Portland and the Heroes and Villains Fanfest/Walker Stalker Con, but it will take a few days to decompress all that and talk about it. In the meantime, I present:

Robot’s Root!

•  In my mind, the biggest news of the weekend was about the Han Solo firing. First, it was that Kennedy didn’t like Lord and Miller’s choices. Then it was about improvisation. Then we learned, after a brief speculative period, that Ron Howard had stepped forward to complete the film. This late in the production, it raises questions. I thought this article offered some insight. I choose to be optimistic. I know the talk of ‘acting coaches’ is alarming, but this is often employed, not simply to bolster a performance, but to tweak it to a specific vision; when you are essentially doing an impression of a well known actor in a famous role, this could be expected, I’d wager.

• This may not be thrilling news for some, or most, but both Brad Pitt and David Fincher are confirmed for WWZ 2. Now, the original strayed far from the book, and I’d be interested to see what direction they take for the sequel, which I really liked, particularly seeing it at midnight in a coffin hotel in Singapore, which makes everything weirder. Meanwhile, Pitt has signed on opposite Rickie Lee Jones in an interesting project about a near-spectrum engineer heading into space to find his astronaut father, which I am 10% into.

• Here’s the best [Hot Toys] look at the Iron Man armor featured in Spidey. I’m of two minds. Make it three minds, for brand awareness. For one, I’m struggling as much with the silver +red/yellow motif nose as I was in Ultimate Iron Man, from a design logic standpoint. I can understand if the gravity of things have led Stark to focus on the tech and less on the ‘hot rod’-ain’t job. But why any red/yellow at all? Two, I want a rational explanation in the script for why he’s wearing this after supposedly dumping the gear after IM 3. Third, science! No, but here’s my thing: I was thinking about an armor post-Civil War. I imagined something black and tactical. I imagined Stark going purpose-built, not the way all of his gallery of disposable armors was in IM3, but a no-nonsense, complete weapon armor. Anyway, there’s that. Meanwhile, here’s Stark on the set of Infinity War wearing curious, deliberate cammo gear with orange striping and what looks like another chest reactor.

• I’m choosing, I mean REALLY choosing, to be optimistic about ST: Discovery. So. Here’s a photo of the proto-transporter and a diagram explaining the uniform delineation, the latter of which being a critical resource for arts. I can’t yet get over the choice to make this the Shatnerverse and not the Pineverse, and how this supposedly takes place AFTER Pike and a few years before Enterprise, but hey. You know I have that strange ability to ignore visual continuity. But I WANT it to be different, anyway.

• Great story of JCVD getting fired from Predator for all the awesomest reasons. Amazing.

• The word of Dazzler’s inclusion in the next X-Men brouhaha appears to have been confirmed, along with quite a bit of vitriol aimed at suggestions that Taylor Swift be cast. I was really on the fence about the 80s X-Men stuff and the setting in the 90’s for the next film. However, I saw some pretty amazing period cosplay this weekend at Fanfest that warmed me to the idea. Well, Izzy was Jubilee, but same point of reference.

• I remain skeptical of the non-dubious application of such a product: Dubious Product.

• I like the casting… well, 99% of that like is on a certain mad brother, but why, WHY, did they release that first image with Medusa’s plastic weird hair to sour everyone on this? Posters, thus.

• I haven’t been able to watch a Bayformers film past the first one, but the 3% hope I have for this Bumblebeee spinoff is the hint that he might have the Bug chassis. Maybe? I mean, guys, U GUISE, all you have to do is exactly what the cartoons did in adapting the toy design language, but dump the mysterious planor sections of gray ‘robot’in the transformed limbs, and just… do… THAT. Anyway, who knows.

Robotech is the first physical comic I’ve committed to in about 10 years. I love what Marco Turini dove into here, after following him on IG for a few years. Really looking forward to the series, and hope it works.
